Glycerin Tinctures Are Here!
Herbal Support the Whole Family Can Use
We’ve been making alcohol-based tinctures for a while now. They’re effective, fast-acting, and a staple in our house. But they’re not for everyone.
If you have kids who won’t take anything that tastes strong, or if you avoid alcohol for any reason, you’ve been waiting for this. Glycerin tinctures offer the same herbal support without the burn. They’re naturally sweet, gentle, and something the whole family can actually use without a fight. We’re launching with nine options today: single herbs and custom blends formulated for the things parents ask us about most.
What is a Glycerin Tincture? (aka Glycerite)
First time hearing about glycerin tinctures? Let’s break down some basic info to get started. A glycerin tincture is a concentrated liquid extract of herbs, just like our alcohol-based tinctures, but made with vegetable glycerin instead of grain alcohol.
Glycerin is naturally sweet, which makes these tinctures much more palatable, especially for children. The extraction process is gentler than alcohol, but for most common herbs, it’s more than effective enough. You get the benefits of herbal support in a form that kids will actually take without complaint.
Glycerin tinctures are perfect for daily, long-term use. They’re gentle on the system, easy to incorporate into routines, and shelf-stable for 2-3 years. No refrigeration needed. Just a bottle you keep in your cabinet and reach for when you need it.

The New Lineup: 9 Glycerin Tinctures
We’re launching with a range of single herbs and blends designed to address the most common needs we hear from families.
Single Herbs:
- Echinacea – Immune support at the first sign of symptoms. Helps your body respond faster when you’re getting sick.
- Lemon Balm – Calming and uplifting. Great for nervous tension and digestive discomfort.
- Catnip – Gentle mood support and anxiety relief. Helps kids (and adults) handle stress and overwhelm.
- Chamomile – The classic calming herb. Soothes nerves, eases tummy troubles, supports restful sleep.
- Elderberry – Rich in antioxidants, supports immune health during the cold season.
Custom Blends:
- Quiet Cough – Wild cherry bark, mullein, echinacea, and marshmallow root. For those lingering chest coughs that won’t quit.
- Tummy Time – Organic fennel seed, chamomile, catnip, and ginger. Eases digestive upset, gas, and discomfort.
- Sweet Slumber – Chamomile, lemon balm, lavender, and catnip. Supports restful sleep without grogginess.
- Immune Boost – Echinacea, elder flower, and astragalus. Daily immune support during the months when everyone’s getting sick.
Our Go-To Glycerin Tinctures for Kids
We use these three most often with our own kids, and they’re the ones we recommend to parents who ask where to start.
Sweet Slumber for bedtime struggles. If your kids have trouble winding down at night, this blend helps. It’s gentle, non-sedating, and supports the body’s natural sleep rhythms. We use it about 30 minutes before bed, and it makes a noticeable difference in how smoothly bedtime goes.
Catnip for anxiety and mood balance. Hard days happen. Big emotions, stressful situations, transitions that throw kids off balance. Catnip helps take the edge off without making them foggy or drowsy. It’s gentle enough for daily use but effective enough that you actually see a shift in how they handle stress. We’ve found a lot of success giving an extra dose or two prior to a big event or sporting competition. *Pro-tip – test it out first to make sure your child handles the catnip well. While nausea is a very rare side effect, we err on the side of caution. Don’t do anything new on game day. Just test it out in advance.
Immune Boost because kids are always getting sick. School, playdates, siblings sharing everything; kids are exposed constantly. We give this one daily during the cold season as preventative support. It doesn’t mean they’ll never get sick, but it does mean they bounce back faster and handle it better when they do. The sweetness of the glycerin means we don’t have to fight them to take it, either. We often use this one twice a day: 1-2 droppers in juice or water in the morning, and another 1-2 droppers in just water towards bedtime. It’s okay to mix this with Sweet Slumber, as well!
Give Your Family Herbal Support They’ll Actually Take
Glycerin tinctures aren’t a replacement for our alcohol-based options. They’re an alternative. Both work. Both have a place. This just gives you more options depending on who’s taking it and what you’re comfortable with.
All nine glycerin tinctures are available now, online and in-store. If you’ve been wanting to try herbal support for your kids but didn’t know where to start, this is it.
